SUMMARY:BIM-VDC for the lifecycle of a project: what is missing?
DESCRIPTION:Registration – free for members\, $ 40 for non-members (payable locally):\n\nhttps://www.eventbrite.ca/e/bim-vdc-for-the-lifecycle-of-a-project-what-is-missing-tickets-39833877199\n\nSummary of the conference :\n\nBIM technology allows us to manage information during the entire lifecycle of an AEC project. For AEC projects Building Information System plays a central role in the improvement of the design and the management process. The building activity generates a great number of data and information of various kinds. The management and the communication of these data by the various participants is complex. In this seminar we will discuss how BIM can be used to manage the entire life cycle of complex construction projects\, and what is still missing in this circle?\n\n—\n\nBiography of the speaker :\n\nDr. Ivanka Iordanova\, LEED AP\, is a diplomaed architect and has a Master’s and a PhD degree from the Université de Montréal. She spent numerous years in academia contributing to research related to collaborative design and creativity\, to digital media and building performance\, to BIM and know-how modeling. Her teaching experience includes digital architecture studios\, courses on modeling and integrated design\, multidisciplinary design studios\, and more recently BIM/VDC and Lean Construction. After a post-doc in the GRIDD of the ETS\, she integrated Pomerleau as a BIM/VDC Director\, now Innovation & VDC Director. There she actively works for collaboration and better productivity in the construction industry through the adoption of new technology (BIM/VDC)\, and better planning and management (Lean construction). She is also scientific respondent at Pomerleau for two industrial research chairs – one on technology in construction at the ETS & UBC\, and another one on innovation and governance of construction projects – at the Montreal Polytechnic. Dr Iordanova is also active at Canadian level as active member of the GC Committee of CanBIM.
