SUMMARY:Climate change: current issues for civil engineering
DESCRIPTION:The design of the majority of infrastructures is traditionally carried out by assuming that the climate is stationary. Given the broad scientific consensus that global warming is caused by human influence\, it is clear that this hypothesis is no longer valid and that our design criteria must be adapted to take into account climate change. The purpose of this presentation is to provide civil engineers with a picture of future climate projections across Canada and the expected impacts of climate change on all of our infrastructure.\n\nJean-Luc has joined the firm Lasalle | NHC in 2018 as a project engineer and holds a Ph.D. in hydrology and climate change from the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS). He has published scientific papers and presented at several international conferences on his research.
